This is one one of the projects I accomplished while researching on electrical system design. 

The system uses microcontroller to vary the speed of induction motor. Induction motors speed basically depends on the number of poles and frequency of the supply, thus induction motors are designed for specific voltage per frequency (V/Hz) ratio. Since the supply frequency from power networks are fairly constant, changing the supply voltage changes the speed of the induction motor.

with this in mind, a microcontroller was used to change the supply voltage. The speed of the induction motor can be manually entered using the keypad in the picture shown below

The microcontroller will then determine the supply voltage to give to the induction motor using the input speed specified. The program was written using C programming language, the program was written in Arduino IDE while the system circuit was designed using Proteus 8 Computer Aided Design (CAD)
